Emmett Perry


Emmett Perry, 92, of Lockeford, died Sept. 16 in Lodi. He was born Jan. 18, 
1912, in San Jose.

Mr. Perry married Alice Pettengill in 1938, and they settled in Lockeford in 
1947. He was employed as an electrical engineer for Diamond Walnut for over 50 
years until his retirement. He was a well known photographer and exhibited many 
of his photos, mainly of wildflowers, to local clubs. He was a member of the 
Stockton Astronomy Club, the Native Plant Society, Woodbridge Masonic Lodge No. 
131, Woodbridge Eastern Star, Lodi and Stockton Gem and Mineral Club, and 
Photographic Society of America along with other local camera clubs. He was 
also a former president of the San Joaquin County Historical Society, and was 
an electricity leader in the 4-H Club.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice Perry, of Lockeford; daughter, 
Gail Parris, of Sacramento; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Floyd Emmett Perry, in 2004.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harmony Grove Cemetery 
in Lockeford with Woodbridge Masonic Lodge No. 131 officiating. Visitation will 
be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Lodi 
Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to San Joaquin 
Historical Society, P.O. Box 30, Lodi, CA 95241; San Joaquin Parks and 
Recreation, 11793 N. Micke Grove Road, Lodi, CA 95240; or Harmony Grove Church 
Fund.
