Jill Gibbs


Jill Diane Gibbs, 41, of Galt, died Sept. 21 in her home. She was born Jill 
Diane Skelton on July 29, 1963, in Bakersfield.

Mrs. Gibbs was a resident of Galt for 36 years. She graduated from Galt High 
School, where she was a majorette. She volunteered as a kindergarten teacher at 
Fairsite Elementary School. She enjoyed making people laugh, and had created an 
original dance for the Galt Festival called the Betty Lou Dance.

She is survived by her husband, Ike Gibbs, of Galt; son, Jacob Gibbs, of Galt; 
brothers, Daryl Skelton and Dale Skelton, both of Ione; sister, Gail; mother, 
Norma Skelton-Tye, of Galt; and step-father, Lonnie Tye, of Galt.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Skelton in 2000.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ben Salas Funeral Home. 
Committal will be private.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
