He was born Aug. 29, 1930, in London, England. Mr. Desborough served in the British Army, Sussex Regiment (Red Beret and special forces) as a paratrooper. He lived in Southern California until he relocated to Acampo four years ago. He worked as an engineer for most of his life, and was employed as a director of human resources with an aerospace company in southern California. While in Acampo, he was the owner and operator of SeaSac Accessories in Galt. He was a member of the S.T.A.R.S. division of the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department. He enjoyed world travel, guns, knives, and military memorabilia. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susanna Desborough, of Acampo; sons, Eric F. Desborough, of Japan, and Leonard A. Desborough, of Galt; daughter, Julie S. Wood, of Chatsworth; sister, Patricia Rosen, of Aptos; brother, David Desborough, of England; father, Percy Desborough, of England; and six grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home. Committal will be private and there will be no visitation.
