He was born May 5, 1922, in San Francisco. Mr. Irish was in the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked for the telephone company in San Francisco for 35 years. He was a resident of San Rafael for 32 years and Lodi for 10 years. He enjoyed reading and watching sports on television. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorene Irish. He is survived by his son Bill Irish, of Petaluma; daughter, Louise, of Lodi; sisters, Betty Finkbohner, of Walnut Creek, and Babsy Van Pelt, of Albany; brother, Robert Irish, of Martinez; and two grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, 2500 5th Ave., San Rafael. Donations in remembrance may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Albany. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
