Hanshew May 20, 1923 - October 14, 2004 Howard Spencer Hanshew, 81, born in Stockton, passed away Monday, October 4, 2004. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, November, 1941, just prior to WWII and served in the So. Pacific during the war. In addition to his trade as a tile setter, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member and Past President of the Stockton Rod and Gun Club and was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, California United Anglers, National Rifle Association and a member of Port Stockton Boaters. Survived by his mother, Grace Montgomery of Stockton, CA; son Michael Hanshew of Seattle, WA; stepdaughter, Darla Lanotti of Mendocino, CA and sisters, Rose Feakes of Walnut Grove, CA, Joy Dawson of Lodi, CA and Dorothy Clifton of Summerfield, FL. A Memorial Service will be held on October 23, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Stockton Rod and Gun Club, 3120 Monte Diablo Ave., Stockton, CA.
