Bernice spent the first part of her life in the Midwest and moved to Stockton in 1960, where she was a beloved wife, mother and friend. Widowed at 33, she raised 4 children. For 24 years she was the Office Manager of San Joaquin County Agricultural Cooperative Extension Service. She lovingly gave her time and concern to family and friends. She loved being with family and friends for holidays, traveling, playing cards, playing bocce, and knitting and crocheting. She was the loving mother of Karen Cobb (wife of Michael), Alison Bosch, Dan Bosch (husband of Jane), and Teresa Peterson (wife of Dale). She is survived by her dear sisters, Mary Losko, Terri Nehl, OSB; and brother, George Nehl; stepchildren, Judy Van Rooyen (wife of Bob), David Winters (husband of Pam), and Dan Winters; grandchildren, David and Jason Peterson, James, Nicholas, Elizabeth Bosch and Clarkia Cobb; step-grandchildren, Patricia Ann Quinn Damron, James Paul Quinn, and Emily Winters. Visitation: Noon to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday & 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Mortuary. Family and Friends are invited to a Rosary which will be recited Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California Street. Funeral Services will be on Friday, October 22, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 3847 N. Sutter Street, followed by a reception dinner. Committal: San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
