She was born in Mountain Home, Idaho as Josephine Rosedelima Perrin and grew up in Lodi. After graduating from the Marineo School of Beauty College in Los Angeles, she opened her own beauty salon in La Jolla, California and operated it for thirty-four years. She enjoyed her profession immensely and continued cutting hair until her death at the age of 98. Josephine came to Stockton in 1946 with her husband, Joseph Clancy, who owned and operated the Yosemite Liquor Store. They enjoyed their cabin in Lake Tahoe. In later years they spent time traveling with a trailer club. Josephine was an avid gardener and loved sharing her plants with others. With her high spirit and happy nature, she was a mentor to many. Mrs. Clancy was a member of the Cathedral of the Annunciation and active in their Widows' Club and Altar Guild. She is survived by two sisters, Laura Stille of Tracy and Lucretia Mazela of Stockton, and many nieces and nephews who enhanced her life. She was preceded in death by Joseph Clancy, her husband of sixty-seven years and by nine of her siblings. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California Street, Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday, October 21, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at the Cathedral of the Annunciation, 4004 W. Rose Street, Stockton, CA. Immediately after the Service, a reception will be held at the Church Hall. Visitation: Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Mortuary. Committal: Private.
