Irene Israel
Irene Israel, 79, of Herald, died Oct. 20 at her daughters home. She was born 
Irene Carter on June 26, 1925, in Oklahoma.

Mrs. Israel lived in Thornton for 50 years until relocating to Herald six years 
ago.

She was employed as an assistant cook for New Hope School. She enjoyed sewing, 
gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.




Irene Israel 
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Israel; four brothers; four sisters; 
two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Israel in 1988.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Galt Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Ben Salas Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Sacramento County.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
