John David Tankersley 
August 22, 1929 - October 19, 2004



John David Tankersley, 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2004. He was 
born on August 22, 1929 in Denton County, Texas. John was a truck driver and 
lifetime resident of Stockton. He loved sports, fishing, racing, and baseball 
especially the 49ers. John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dollie 
Tankersley and son Ricky Tankersley. 
Survived by wife Margaret Tankersley; daughter, Barbara Vogt; 3 grandchildren, 
Kip Tankersley, Corissa Vogt, Corinna Vogt; 2 great-grandchildren, Zachary 
and Christian Tankersley; brothers, Harvey Tankersley and Joe Tankersley; 
sisters, Rosie Hunt and Charlene Blake.
Visitation: Monday, October 25, 2004, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans 
Merced Chapel, 1490 B Street, Merced, CA. 
Funeral: Monday, October 25, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Chapel, 
Merced, CA. Interment: Evergreen Memorial Park.
