Crowe Sept. 21, 1929 - Oct. 19, 2004 Thomas Sellman Crowe, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, October 19, 2004, in Santa Clara. A devoted and caring husband for 40 years to Sandra Jo Strawn Crowe. The couple raised their two children: Susan Crowe Shkouratoff of Santa Clara and Thomas William Crowe of Arcosanti, Arizona at their home in Stockton. Tom was born September 21, 1929 in San Francisco to Esther Sellman Crowe of Colusa and Geoffrey Crowe, an immigrant from Ireland. Tom grew up in San Pedro and Oakland. Tom graduated from the California Maritime Academy and then went on to serve as a Navy officer during the Korean War. He was responsible for performing the Sunday services aboard ship. He then graduated from San Jose State University where he received his teaching credential. Tom was a teacher for 34 years in the Industrial Arts Department at Stagg High School in Stockton where he loved teaching electronics, metal shop and photography. Tom is preceded in death by his sister Anne Crowe Palen of San Mateo and survived by his brother Cecil A. Crowe of Dana Point. Tom was a loving, devoted and giving family member, especially enjoying his time with his beloved grandchildren, Laura and Mary. He was often the "parent volunteer" at his granddaughter's preschool, and he took them on frequent trips to the park to play and feed the ducks. He will be deeply missed. Memorial service to be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 808 West Porter Avenue in Stockton, California at 11AM on Wednesday, October 27th.
