Franklin R. "Pete" Stewart 
Sept. 24, 1928 - Oct. 27, 2004



Franklin R. "Pete" Stewart, of Stockton, C. age 76 years, passed in a Stockton 
hospital on Wednesday, October 27, 2004. He was born on September 24, 1928 in 
Buncombe, Illinois to Ernest "Bill" and Millie (Rich) Stewart. He was reared 
and educated there, and in 1951, during the Korean Conflict was inducted to the 
U.S. Army. In 1953 he was honorably discharged as a Corporal.
For over 50 years he has resided in Stockton, and was employed by the State of 
California at the Stockton State Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician for 40 
years. He retired in 1987. He was a member of the Morning Star Masonic Lodge 
No. 68 in Stockton, and enjoyed camping, fishing and square dancing.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Mildred L. Stewart of Stockton; son and 
his wife Jim and Colleen Stewart of Stockton; 2 granddaughters Corie Elizabeth 
and Kimberlee Ann Stewart; 2 brothers, William Stewart, and Jack and his wife 
Julie Stewart of Buncombe, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd, 1:00 p.m. in Evergreen 
Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Lane in Lodi, CA. The 
Morning Star Masonic Lodge No. 68 will officiate, with the U.S. Army Honor 
Guard presenting military honors. Entombment will follow in Sierra View 
Mausoleum. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral on Tuesday 12:00-1:00 
p.m. in Evergreen Chapel. Service under the direction of Cherokee Memorial 
Funeral Home.
