"Uncle Mike" De Journette August 3, 1948 - October 26, 2004 Michael L. De Journette, 56, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in a local hospital of cancer that he had battled for 6 months. He was born August 3, 1948, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Michael enjoyed flea markets, movies, collecting knives, swords, coins and jewelry. He liked riding the bus to the mall for the enjoyment of being able to visit with friends who rode Smart Transportation. He was very interested in Documentaries, U.S. History and Harley Davidsons with his icon being Jesse James. Michael also very much enjoyed being around his family and friends in the neighborhood. He loved his family; his friends were a very big part of his life. He also loved his chihuahua "Nini". He was the beloved son of the late Jamie De Journette. Survived by daughter, Michelle Marie De Journette Thomas of Salt Lake City, Utah; his sister, Nancy Touchstone of Stockton; nieces, Toni Touchstone, Katherine Mero, Destiny Imel and Sue Trammel; nephews, Scott Touchstone and the late Clifford Trammel Jr.; nieces-in-law, Michelle Burgos and Brandi Touchstone of Stockton; great nieces and nephews, Bert (Bubba) Cherry, Kara Cherry and Joseph Cherry; Jonathan Mero, Seth Touchstone and Dyani Touchstone, Anthony Casey, Isahia Casey and Caleb Casey all of Stockton; foster sister, Ethel Jones (aunt Tiny) of Stockton and numerous friends and neighbors. He was known to all as "Uncle Mike". He will be missed very much. Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, November 1, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Alternative Burial and Cremation, 445 N. American St., Stockton, CA. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in your area for the prevention of cigarette smoking.
