Irene Elma Costa 
July 1, 1917 - October 29, 2004



Irene Elma Costa, 87, died on October 29, 2004, at Prestige Assisted Living in 
Marysville. She was born in Oakland on July 1, 1917 and lived in Linden for 85 
years. She graduated from Linden High School. Mrs. Costa was a homemaker and 
worked with her husband in his walnut business, they owned and operated the 
original Linden Club. She was also a weighmaster. Irene was an avid bowler and 
golfer and belonged to the Linden Garden Club. 
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Louis; and two brothers, Ernest 
Mignacco, and Armand Mignacco. She was the loving mother of Richard Costa of 
Lodi and Sharon Guthrie of Yuba City. She was the beloved grandmother of Jared 
of Yuba City and Jessica Guthrie of Woodbridge, Virginia; two great-
granddaughters, Taylor Guthrie and Madison Guthrie of Yuba City.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Holy Cross Church 
at 18633 E. Front St., in Linden on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. 
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2004 from 12:00-7:00 p.m. at 
DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton. Committal will be at 
the Linden Cemetery on Cady and Front St., in Linden.
