Alvida Joyce "Vida" Souza 
May 21, 1933 - November 1, 2004



Alvida Joyce "Vida" Souza, 71, of Lodi, passed away in a local hospital of 
Monday, November 1, 2004. She was born May 21, 1933 in McClusky, ND. Vida came 
to Lodi in 1935 and was a graduate of Lodi High in 1951. She married James 
Souza in 1953. Vida lived in Antioch and Rio Vista before returning to Lodi in 
1977. She worked as a secretary for many years including 10 years for North 
Stockton Auto Service. She enjoyed painting working in various mediums and 
traveling with her husband and family. She was a member of the Fairmont Seventh-
day Adventist Church in Lodi. 
Survived by husband of 51 years, James M. Souza of Lodi; daughter, Barbara 
Niemann of Acampo; 2 granddaughters, Brianna and Kaylah Niemann of Acampo; 
brother, Dallas Treichel of Orosi, CA; sister, Frances Stafford of Erie, PA. 
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. in the 
Evergreen Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Park. There will be no visitation at her 
request. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
