Carl Mothersell
Carl E. Mothersell, 86, of Thornton, died Nov. 2 in a local convalescent 
hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Olney 
Springs, Colo.

Mr. Mothersell resided in Colorado from 1948 to 1952, and then lived in the 
Thornton and Galt area for 51 years. He worked for the Kenworthy-Patterson 
Ranch from 1953 to 1993. He built exhibits at the Thornton Fairs and won best 
exhibit for five consecutive years. He enjoyed cooking, especially barbecuing 
and preparing food in a smoker.

He is survived by his son, Tim Mothersell, of San Jose; grandsons, Alec, 
Benjamin and Cameron Grubb, of San Jose; granddaughters, Jeri young and Laura 
Grubb, of San Jose; and two great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 13 at Ben Salas Funeral Home. 
Committal will be private at Copperopolis Cemetery.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
