He was born September 11, 1920, in Escalon, and grew up in Riverbank. Dave served in the Army Air-Corp during WWII, and after the war married Lenora "Lee" Luiz in 1945. He began a career as a welder / mechanic at Sharps Army Depot and retired from Tracy Defense Depot in the late 1970's as receiving Supervisor, where he received the "Distinguished Employee Award". From the time he was a teenager, Dave worked part time for K. Darpinian & Sons, Inc. in Modesto, and continued with them through his career until retiring, when he went full time working an additional 12 years for them. Dave enjoyed hid family and was an avid bowler. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lee Waddy of Stockton; 2 sons, David and his wife Jackie Waddy of Stockton, Phillip and his wife Cathy Waddy of Stockton; 2 grandchildren, Karen and Kevin Waddy; 5 sisters, Helen Ferrara of La Jolla, CA, Lola Mellen of Modesto, Dolly Lockhart, Nancy Kline and Florence Noakes all of Riverbank; and 1 brother, Robert Waddy of Riverbank. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in the Evergreen Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 & Harney Ln., Lodi. Followed by burial at the Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 E. Industrial Way, Lodi.
