Donaciano "Chuy" Perez Correa 
Feb. 22, 1923 - Nov. 5, 2004



Donaciano "Chuy" Perez Correa, 81, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2004. He 
was born February 22, 1923, in San Juan de Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico. Like 
millions of Mexicans, Chuy immigrated to the United States in the 1940s to work 
in the booming post-war factories in the Chicago area. In the 1950s he moved to 
Stockton to work in the fertile fields and canneries of the San Joaquin Valley. 
Over the years, Chuy also worked as an extra-hand longshoreman at the Port of 
Stockton. Chuy moved his family from Mexico to Stockton in the early 1960s. 
Along with his wife, Enedina Loza Perez, they raised five children in "El 
Barrio de los Chivos" in East side Stockton. As Catholics, Chuy and his family 
have been parishioners of St. Gertudes for over 40 years. Chuy was a loving 
father who instilled a hard-work ethic in his children, all of which graduated 
from Franklin Senior High and went on to attend Delta, U.O.P., U.C. Berkeley, 
Stanford, and Harvard. The family's most cherished memories of Chuy include all 
of the road trips and vacations spent together in Mexico. Chuy had any "amigos" 
both in Stockton and in San Juan de los Lagos. He loved to tell stories about 
his life experiences that made his friends and family smile and laugh a lot. 
All of his family and friends will miss Chuy dearly. 
Chuy is preceded in death by his son, Miguel Perez and survived by his wife, 
Enedina Loza Perez, children, Jaime Perez, Irma Perez, Yolanda Alvarez, and 
Eduardo Perez and grandchildren Daniel and Sarah Alvarez and Nicolas and 
Elizabeth Perez. 
A Mass in his name will be held at St. Gertudes Catholic Church, 1663 East Main 
St., Stockton, at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2004.
