She was born in Urichsville, Ohio on January 1, 1921 to Francis and Alberta Patterson. Helen grew up in Dennison, Ohio where she graduated from Dennison High School in 1938. On July 30, 1940, she married the late James A. Morgan. They resided in Louisville, Ohio, where she was a librarian at Louisville Public Library for 25 years. In 1980 they moved to the Stockton/Lodi area to be near their daughter. Helen was an active volunteer for 16 years at Lincoln Elementary School in Stockton, working in the classrooms as well as in the library, and for her service she received the Honorary PTA Service Award. Helen was a member of the Ohio Library Association in Ohio, Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville, Ohio and the Arbutus Order of Eastern Star. She was a voracious reader, bridge player and enjoyed cooking. Helen was a woman with a wry sense of humor, who had a love of animals and was an avid football fan. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who gave of herself to make dreams and hopes for others come true. Survived by daughter, Kelleen Yocum; granddaughter, Amy Yocum and great- granddaughter, Morgan Anne, all of Lodi, CA; sister, Glenda Henson of Cincinnati and caregiver, Linda Ganly, who the family thanks dearly. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James A. Morgan; father, Francis Russell Patterson; mother, Alberta Emma Arbogast Patterson; brother, Floyd "Gene" Patterson and sister, Anna Louise Marstrell. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date, and inurnment will be at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Linden Elementary Library, 18100 East Front St., Linden, CA 95236 or to the Lincoln Elementary School, 818 W. Lincoln Rd., Stockton, CA 95207.
