He was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Logan County, N.D., where he was raised and attended schools in the Arvada School district. He moved with his parents to Lodi in 1955. He graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1960, and then married Elaine Beglau in 1961. He served in the Army from 1961-64, including time in Germany. In 1964, he moved to Fullerton where he was employed by Delco in Anaheim for 30 years until his retirement in 1995. He met Joann Stauffer at Delco and they were married in 1994 in Reno, Nev. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, and enjoyed serving on the Board of Church Properties. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, model cars and trains. He is survived by his wife, Joann Grabau, of Buena Park; daughter, Shelley Scully, of Corona; son, Terry Chandler, of Arizona; brother, Melvin Grabau, of Stockton; sister, Delphaine Pyles, of Sacramento; mother, Martha, of Galt; four step-children; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Grabau. A funeral was held Nov. 1 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Buena Park. Interment was held at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. McAulay Funeral Home of Fullerton was in charge of arrangements.
