He was a long-time resident of Lake Camanche Village, after moving there from Danville. He lived in Lodi the past three years. A World War II veteran, Mr. Sparrowk served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. His business career included serving as president of three different companies and he developed Round Hill Country Club and Estates, Copper Cove, Don Pedro, Rancho Calaveras, Lake Comanche Village and other quality communities in California. Mr. Sparrowk had a passion for missions and he traveled to 76 countries during his lifetime. He also helped to develop The Theological Community in Mexico City and holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Education Administration from that institution. During the Cambodian crisis, he volunteered in Thailand setting up a program to feed Cambodian refugees. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Stockton. He is survived by his loving wife, Cora, of Lodi; son Jack and wife, Beverly; daughter Jill and husband John "Butch" Bray; grandchildren John T.; Julie and husband, Dave Campbell; Jeff and wife, Wendy; Reed and wife, Melinda Hammond, J. Cody, Jacob and Jacey Bray. He also leaves seven great-grandchildren, Jarod Sparrowk, Rachel, Maddie and Trevor Campbell, Jordan and Molly Sparrowk and Carson Hammond. Visitation will be at Rocha's Mortuary, 215 S. School St., Lodi, Tuesday, November 16, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Mr. Sparrowk's life will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2004, at Stockton First Baptist Church, 3535 N. El Dorado at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Donations can be made to Stockton First Baptist Church Children's Center, 3535 N. El Dorado St., Stockton or to any charity of the donor's choice.
