William McLeish
William Alexander McLeish, 77, of Lodi, died Nov. 17 in a local convalescent 
hospital. He was born April 28, 1927, in Oakland.

Mr. McLeish served in the U.S. Merchant Marines, Army and Coast Guard. He 
worked for Del Monte in Oakland as a machinist for over 40 years. He enjoyed 
telling stories about the time he spent serving his country. He also enjoyed 
being a great-grandfather and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Salazar, of Pinole, Linda Whittington, 
of Albany, and Sandra Green, of Ione; sister, Alice Thompson, of Leighton, Pa.; 
brother, James McLeish, of Norristown, Pa.; six grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McLeish.

Services will be private, and inurnment will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery 
in San Pablo.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
