Gladys Cashman

Gladys Arlene (Patterson) Cashman, known to many as "Sally" or "Pat", was born 
September 13, 1914 in Wrenshall, Minn. She died in Lodi Memorial Hospital 
Saturday, November 13, 2004.
She graduated from Chesterton High School in Indiana in 1932 and lived and 
worked in Chicago for several years before moving to Southern California in 
1943. She worked at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach (Building B-17 Bombers) 
during WWII.
She married Vern Cashman in Fullerton on August 5, 1945. They moved to Walnut 
Creek in 1949, and also lived in Portland, Oregon where she was on the Federal 
Grand Jury, then moved to Stockton, then Lodi and to Lockeford in 1970. She was 
a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Lodi where she served as an Elder, 
Deacon and President of the Woman's Association. She and Vern renewed their 
wedding vows at Grace on their 50th wedding anniversary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kyle and Paul Patterson 
and her husband, Vern, who died in 1998. 
She is survived by a stepson, John Newton Cashman of Martinez; two 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two 
nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, 10 N. Mills 
Avenue, Lodi, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2004, with Rev. Dr. David 
Hill officiating. There will be no visitations, and at her request, her remains 
will be donated to medical science.
