Helen (Nell) Stephens 
July 25, 1919 - November 16, 2004



Nell DeYoung Stephens died Tuesday, November 16, 2004, after a short illness. 
Mrs. Stephens was the widow of the late Theodore J. Stephens and mother of 
Kathleen Stephens, Theodore Stephens Jr. and James Stephens, all of Stockton. 
She is also survived by a brother, C.K. Bud DeYoung; two daughters-in-law, 
Julie and Annette Stephens; five grandchildren, Megan Dunn, Stephen Dunn, and 
Molly Dunn, Theodore J. Stephens IV, Heather Raley and one great-granddaughter, 
Paige Stephens. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Kathleen 
Heffernan, Betty Doneux, and Marie P. Lechich. Nell was a lifetime resident of 
Stockton and active in many local organizations including St. Joseph's Hospital 
Auxiliary. She gradu-ated from Saint Mary's High School and remained loyal to 
the school throughout her life. Family and friends were the center of her life 
and she will be missed by them all. 
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on 
Saturday, November 20, 2004, 12:30 p.m. at Cathedral of the Annunciation, 400 
W. Rose Street, Stockton, CA. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 
2004, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California 
Street, Stockton, CA. 
The family suggests donations be made to Saint Mary's High School Scholarship 
Fund, P.O. Box 7247, Stockton, CA 95267-0247.
