James Edward Hammerstone 
Oct. 8, 1918 - Nov. 19, 2004



James Edward Hammerstone, 86, a native of Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, 
November 19, 2004 in Stockton. 
He was the loving husband of Betty Hammerstone and devoted father of James F. 
Hammerstone, Jr. and his wife Lana M. Hammerstone and the late Richard H. 
Hammerstone. He is also survived by his grandchildren Richard H. Hammerstone, 
Jr. and his wife Karen of Tyngsboro, MA, James E. Hammerstone III and his wife 
Kelly, Christopher Michael Hammerstone and Robert Andrew H. Hammerstone, all of 
Stockton. Mr. Hammerstone was a Captain in the United States Navy when he 
retired after serving 21 years. He was awarded the Bronze Star for service 
during WWII. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. 
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, 
at 3:00 p.m. at St. Catherine's Chapel at O'Connor Woods, 3400 Wagner Heights 
Road, Stockton, CA. There will be no visitation. Private committal will be at 
Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, CA. 
Memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association of Northern CA, 
Northern Nevada Chapter, 2065 W. El Camino Real, Suite C, Mountain View, CA 
94040-2217.
