Orville Short
Orville "Dale" Short, 75, of Galt, died Nov. 24 in his home. He was born July 
21, 1929, in Whiting, Ind.

Mr. Short served in the U.S. Army. He resided in the area for most of his life. 
He worked as a meat cutter until his retirement. He was also a former owner of 
Galt Furniture and several other businesses in Galt. He was a member of Church 
of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wilma Short, of Galt; daughters, Nancy 
Short, Jeannie Elgersma, and Linda McAlister; son, Danny Mora; seven 
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Mora, in 1991.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Ben Salas Funeral Home with Bruce 
Logue of Church of Christ officiating. Committal will follow at Galt Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sutter Hospice, 2800 
L St., Ste. 400, Sacramento, CA 95816.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
