He was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Ashley, N.D., where he was raised on a farm. Mr. Marzolf served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran. He also served in the National Guard for three years. He served as a staff sergeant, and received three Purple Hearts, three battle stars ETO, and combat Infantry badge and Unit citation. Arthur Marzolf He married Pauline Martel in 1943, and they settled in Lodi in 1959. He was employed by the St. Louis Railroad, the brick plant in Ione for 20 years, Johns- Manville, and the Lodi Unified School District until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 59, the American Legion Post No. 22 and VFW Post No. 1968. He enjoyed working and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Marzolf, of Lodi; sons, Harry Marzolf, Willis Marzolf, and Myron Marzolf, all of Lodi; daughters, Kathleen Morris, of Lodi, Judy Case, of Galt, Peggy Reed, of Westwood, and Vicky Whetstone, of Stockton; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny, Ted and Leonard Marzolf; and sisters, Martha Golz, Gertrude Volk, Amelia Marzolf, and Olga Marzolf. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Russ Kreydt officiating. Committal will follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 S. Pleasant Ave., Lodi, CA 95240.
