Arnold Avery 
Aug. 26, 1947 - Nov. 9, 2004



Mr. Arnold Avery, 57, was born August 26, 1947 in Duran, Georgia, the son of 
the late William Jackson and Mozelle Avery Scott of Stockton, California. He 
passed from this life Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Avery 
was previously employed by Swift Mills in Columbus, and also worked for The 
Royal Cafe, Attic Appliances and Assurance Realty Co. He was a member of St. 
James A.M.E. Church, the Male Usher Board and the Kitchen Support Group. He was 
blessed with a personality that radiated love. He will be missed by all whose 
lives he touched. 
Survivors include his mother, Mozelle A. Scott; one sister, Willene P. Wilson 
(Ruben); two nephews, Christopher U. Parks and Richard Girley, Jr.: one grand-
nephew, Isaiah Girley; and one grand-niece, Khristmas Girley all of Stockton, 
California; one great- aunt, Mattie Parks of Greenville, Georgina; two special 
friends, Joseph F. Gunn and Mrs. Ida St.-John of Columbus, Georgia; three 
special cousins, Bessie, Charlie and Cheryl Hudson of Reviera Beach, Florida; 
Julia Ellison of Durand, Georgia; many cousins; both Ellison and Jackson 
families and a friend from childhood, Sally McGruder. 
Services were held at St. James A.M.E. Church, Rev. Scottie Swinney 
officiating. Interment at Trinity C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Duran, Georgia. 
The family would like to thank each and everyone for their kindness during our 
bereavement.
