Bob Shigeru Ota 
Oct. 20, 1914 - November 23, 2004



Bob Shigeru Ota, 90, of Stockton, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at 
his Stockton residence. He was born on October 20, 1914, in Stockton, CA. Mr. 
Ota attended French Camp Grammar School and graduated from Stockton High 
School. He was a longtime resident of French Camp and Stockton. Mr. Ota retired 
as co-owner and operator of Ota Farms and Hatanaka & Ota Packing Co. in 1985. 
He was a member of the Stockton Buddhist Church, French Camp Japanese American 
Citizen League, Fukuoka Nikkeijinkai and Tomo No Kai.
Mr. Ota was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Lydia Ota in 2000.
Survived by children, Larry Ota and wife, Arleen of Stockton, CA, Janice 
Kitagawa and husband, Dennis of San Jose, CA and Dr. Calvin Ota and wife, 
Melanie of Stockton, CA; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services: Sunday, November 28, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Stockton Buddhist 
Church, 2820 Shimizu Drive, Stockton, CA.
Memorial contributions may be designated to the Alzheimer's Aid Society, 105 S. 
Washington St., Lodi, CA 95240 or to the Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific 
Ave., Stockton, CA 95204.
