Lonnevik August 24, 1920 - Nov. 23, 2004 ------------ Harold D. Lonnevik, 84, passed away on November 23, 2004. Born in Valier, Montana on August 24, 1920, he was the third of five children of Margaret Wendlyn and Theodore Lonnevik. He started the Steel Workers Local Union at Tillie Lewis Can Plant in the 1960's. He was the first Union President. While the family lived in Washington state, he was involved in the building of Grand Coulee Dam on the Columbia River. Then Harold moved to Alaska for the building of the airport in Fairbanks, which had a profound effect during WWII. Because of December 7, 1941, he enlisted in the Navy. He served in the South Pacific & was one of the founding members of the Special Forces (the Navy Seals). After the war Harold moved to California, residing here in Stockton. He is survived by his older sister, Thelma Mott; and younger brother, Theodore, Jr.; longtime and loving companion, Colette Barton; he is also survived by Jeannie Mercado, Diane Peterson, Janet Mott, and other numerous nieces and nephews.
