Filippi March 5, 1920 - November 20, 2004 Lino A. Filippi, 84, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2004 in Lodi. He was born March 5, 1920, in Lucca, Italy. He was known as Chef Lino at Lino's Restaurant at Bazaar del Mundo, in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. For 34 years his passion was his Italian Cuisine cooking. He learned all he knew about Italian cooking from his family in Lucca. He enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends with good food, music and dancing. He loved living by the ocean in San Diego. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was the beloved Babbo (father) of Maria Blanchard and Linetta Anna Filippi of Stockton, Norma Reyes, Serafina Filippi and Lina Chavez of San Diego, CA; loving brother of Edgio Filippi of Lucca, Italy. He was preceded in death by his two brothers and two sisters of Lucca. Also survived by nieces and nephews. He leaves 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Michael's Church, 5882 N. Ashley Lane, Stockton. Committal: Private.
