She was born June 22, 1939, in Houston, Texas. She moved to California with her family and they settled in southern California. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, and a Masters Degree in Education and Reading from Holy Names University in Oakland. She was employed as a recreation specialist for Army Special Services at bases in Germany, South Korea and the U.S. She taught English at Lodi High School East Campus. She taught English and study skills classes for many years at San Joaquin Delta College, and then was Director of the Tutor Center until her retirement. She was a member of the Lodi Branch of AAUW. She was a world traveler, and enjoyed cycling in the different countries she visited. She was also an avid reader. She is survived by her sisters, Carole Edwards, of San Diego, and Sara Lynn Patteson, of Tracy. A celebration of life open house will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 19 at her home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Adventure Cycling Association, "Great Divide Mountain Bike Trail," 150 E.
