Maria de Jesus Benavides 
Nov. 29, 1932 - Nov. 26, 2004



Maria de Jesus Benavides, 71, passed away Friday, November 26, 2004. Maria was 
born on November 29, 1932 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and came to Stockton on 
May 28, 1958.
She was the devoted wife of Salvador Benavides, whom she married on February 
19, 1950. Loving mother of Margaret Benavides and her husband, Anthony of 
Antioch, Virginia Santa Cruz and her husband, Anthony, Isabel Medel and her 
husband, Raymond, Stella Benavides, Linda Benavides Gallindo and her husband, 
David, Sylvia Garcia and her husband, Joe, Yolanda Benavides, Salvador 
Benavides and Irma Madero, all of Stockton. Cherished sister of Adela Ortega of 
Stockton. Dear grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. 
Preceded in death by the late Marina Soto, Donaciano Ortega and Guadalupe Ramos.
A Vigil Service will be held at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., 
Stockton, on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian 
burial will be celebrated at St. Linus Catholic Church, 2620 South B Street, 
Stockton on Wednesday, December 1 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at 
DeYoung Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Committal, Cherokee 
Memorial Park, Lodi, CA.
