Monckton, 64, of Stockton, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2004. He was born on April 27, 1940 in Woodbury County, Iowa, where he grew up and married his wife of 43 years, the former Geraldine Steinfeld. He is also survived by his loving sons, Jeffery, Sr. and Stanley (Lynee), both of Stockton and Kelly of Woodbridge. Arthur enjoyed the love of his grandchildren, Jeffery, Jr., Nicholas, Eric, Sara and Christopher. He leaves behind his sister, JoAnn Hunwardsen (Earl) and brothers, Robert McLeish and Andrew McLeish, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In 2001, after 35 years, Arthur retired as a USDA Meat Inspector. Arthur will always be remembered by many good friends and relatives through his affiliations with Little League, Youth Soccer and especially, Delta Youth Football. Arthur was a volunteer coach for 28 years with the North Stockton Bengals. He was an active member and current Secretary for the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 218. He was the District Chairman of the Elks sponsored HOOP SHOOT. One of Arthur's favorite hobbies was making sausage for the monthly Elks breakfast gatherings. Arthur was a member of the Moose Lodge 391. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of the Presentation, 6715 Leesburg Place, Stockton. Visitation: Tuesday, 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, Stockton. Committal at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elks Lodge Crippled Children Foundation or your favorite charity of choice.
