Ferrero Feb. 20, 1930 - Nov. 29, 2004 John C. Ferrero, 74, of Lodi passed away Monday evening November 29, 2004 in a local hospital. Mr. Ferrero was born in San Francisco and has resided in Lodi for the past 62 years. He attended local schools and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1947. John was employed by Nor-Cal Beverage Company in Lodi and Stockton from 1956 until retiring in 1998. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading, making homemade Italian Sausage and ravioli, visiting with family and friends, taking trips with family and friends and planning surprise parties. John was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and the Lodi Italian Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo and Mary (Filippi) Ferrero. He married Velma (Giunipero) Ferrero on June 14, 1953. In addition to being survived by his wife, he is also survived by 1 daughter, Michele and her husband Jeff Myers of Lodi; 2 sons, Mario and his wife Sheila Ferrero of Lodi, Danny and his wife, Carolyn Ferrero of Sacramento; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Myers, Jaime Myers, Greg Ferrero, Nicole Ferrero, Natalie Ferrero and Julia Ferrero. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday at 12:00 Noon at Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Father Nathan White officiating. Committal will be at San Joaquin Catholic Mausoleum in Stockton. Visitation will be Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to Noon at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity or memorial fund of the donor's choice.
