Melo Dec. 12, 1951 — April 18, 2004 A memorial Mass will be Monday for Tracy resident Natalia A. Melo, 52, who died Sunday at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Sacramento. Born in Pico, Azores, Mrs. Melo lived in Tracy five years and previously in San Jose. Mrs. Melo was a baker. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of others and dancing. She will be greatly missed by her family. Mrs. Melo is survived by her husband of two months, Manuel Areia; four children, Maria Contreras of Tracy, Helia Madruga of Los Banos, Antonio Madruga of Elk Grove and Eva Barton of Corpus Christi, Texas; nine siblings, Alice Melo of San Jose, Leonelda and Jacinta Melo, both of Boston, Albertina, Ana, João and Victorino Melo, all of Pico, Azores, Jose Melo of Terceira, Azores, and Manuel Melo of France; and nine grandchildren. Monday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., is handling arrangements.
