Pfeiff, 90, of Lodi, died Dec. 7 in Lodi. He was born Jan. 19, 1915, in Loveland, Colo., where he attended elementary school and graduated from Loveland High School. Mr. Pfeiff continued his education and graduated from Yankton College and the Yankton School of Theology at Yankton, S.D. He is an alumnus of The United Theological Seminary in new Brighton, Minn. He was ordained in 1938 during the session of the Nebraska Conference that was held in Hastings, Neb. He served for 42 years in churches located in Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana, Washington, and California until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement, he continued doing pulpit supply and church related services for several years. He was a member of the SIR's organization and served as chaplain for 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and "tinkering" with cars. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ramona Pfeiff, of Lodi; son, Merlyn Pfeiff, of Rohnert Park; daughter, Nadine Quast, of Puyallup, Wash.; brother, Sam Pfeiff, of Loveland, Colo.; sister, Edna Haemmelman, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Congregational Church with the Rev. Jack Dawson officiating. Interment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Congregational Christian Church Memorial Fund. Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
