Rebecca A. Hersom 
July 28, 1958 - December 5, 2004



Rebecca A. Hersom, 46, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 5, 
2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 28, 1958, in 
Toledo, Ohio. She was an employee for 8 years with Catholic Healthcare West, at 
St. Josephs Hospital in the dietary department. Prior to her employment with 
St. Josephs she was a manager of Carl's Jr. for 18 years. She was a beloved 
member of the Humane Society of the United States. 
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Walter Hersom; her children, Jason 
and Sarah Hersom of Stockton; her parents, David and Rosemary Bensman; her 
sister, Suzanne Bensman and her brother, David Bensman. Rebecca is also 
survived by many nieces and nephews. Rebecca was very much a homebody. She 
loved fixing up her house and tending to her yard. She enjoyed spending time 
with her family. She and her husband spent time going to the mountains and to 
Monterey for weekend get-a-ways. Rebecca will be deeply missed by all who knew 
her. 
Per Rebecca's wishes there will be no services. 
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Rebecca's name to Hospice of 
San Joaquin County, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204 or the Delta Humane 
Society, P.O. Box 30908, Stockton, CA 95213.
Our family would like to give special thanks to Kaiser Oncology Department, and 
Hospice of San Joaquin County for the superb care and support they gave us 
during our time of need.
