Alice Laura James 
Sept. 23, 1916 - Dec. 7, 2004



Alice Laura James age 88 of Stockton went home to be with the Lord on December 
7, 2004, at home. She was born in Porterville, CA, on September 23, 1916 and 
was a resident of Stockton for 65 years. She worked in retail sales for Sears 
for 33 years. 
Mrs. James was married on August 17, 1935 in Sonora, CA, to Cornelius T. James, 
her loving husband of 69 years of Stockton. She is also survived by her 
children, John C. James and wife Patsy of Stockton and Carole Cunningham and 
husband, Earl of Stockton; grandchildren, Kristen James, Tonya York, John P. 
James and wife Wendy, Kevin James and wife Tania, and Alicia Cunningham; great 
grandchildren Anthony Barkley, Matthew James, Deannia James, Joseph York and 
Alex Cunningham-Perez; sisters, Elsie Dollarhide, Ethel Male and Betty 
Lienhard; brother, Homer Clendenen; brother-in-law, Ron Gaither; sister-in-law, 
Nell Pierson and caregiver, Delores Higgins. Mrs. James was preceded in death 
by her parents, Clara Akers Pittman and Leo Clendenen. 
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2004, at 10 a.m., 
Parkview Memorial Chapel, 3661 E. French Camp Rd., Manteca. Visitation will be 
held Friday from 2 - 7 p.m. at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. 
California St. Committal at Parkview Cemetery.
