Homer R. Newman 
June 24, 1931 - Dec. 8, 2004



Mr. Homer R. Newman, 73, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at his 
Stockton residence. Mr. Newman was born on June 24, 1931 in Antlers, OK, 
and has lived in San Joaquin County for the past 60 years. Mr. Newman served in 
the U.S. Army 47th MASH Unit during the Korean War. He was an avid sports fan 
and he held season tickets to the UOP Football and Basketball teams for the 
past 50 years. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson and granddaughter 
play basketball. Mr. Newman retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1979 after 
20 years of service.
He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Emma L. Newman; his six children, 
Elizabeth Newman of Stockton, Bo Newman of Mokelumne Hill, Michael Newman of 
Stockton, John Newman, Sr. of Galt, June Newman of Idaho and Daniel Newman of 
Galt and his sister, Bonnie Wilson of OK; 10 grandchildren and 5 great 
grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ada Newman and 
nine siblings.
Visitation will be Saturday, 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 
p.m. with a Funeral Service on Monday, December 13, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at 
Wallace-Martin Funeral Home located at 520 N. Sutter Street in Stockton. 
Committal will be at Cherokee Memorial Park.
