David Joseph Pombo March 31, 1940 — April 17, 2004 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday for Tracy dairyman, farmer and lifelong resident David Joseph Pombo, 64, who died Saturday at his sister’s home in Tracy. Born and raised in Tracy, Mr. Pombo attended Tracy schools and graduated in 1958 from Tracy High School. He was a farmer and dairyman 44 years. A parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Mr. Pombo was also a member of the St. Anthony’s Society. He enjoyed reading and watching political news programs. He had limitless patience and enjoyed fixing things. His life encompassed his family and work. Mr. Pombo is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David A. Pombo, and his wife, Dawn, and Dello L. Pombo, and his wife, Lisa, all of Tracy; five grandchildren, David , Dylan , Dara , Dante and Drew Pombo, all of Tracy; and three siblings, Mary Gillen, Damon Pombo, and his wife, Pauline, and Ralph Pombo, and his wife, Onita, all of Tracy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Pitta Pombo and Isabel Pombo Borba; a son, Dante J. Pombo; five brothers, Joe, Ernest, Alfred, George and Joe “Little Joe” Pombo; and three sisters, Isabel Mattos, Virginia Abel and Alice Pombo. Thursday’s Mass and rosary will begin at 12:30 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery. Contributions in Mr. Pombo’s name may be made to St. Bernard’s Church Building Fund, 163 W. Eaton Ave., 95376; Hospice of San Joaquin 2609 E.
