Howard Kernutt
 
Howard C. Kernutt, 79, of Lodi, died Dec. 20 in a local care home. He was born 
April 18, 1925, in Eugene, Ore.

Mr. Kernutt attended Warner Pacific College in Portland, Ore, where he received 
his bachelor of arts and B.T.H. degrees. He was ordained into the ministry in 
1950 in Colfax, Wash. He was a pastor at churches in Moscow, Idaho, Madera and 
Pasadena.

He also served as the executive secretary of the Church of God in Anderson, 
Ind. In 1979, he relocated to Lodi and became the Executive Director of the 
District. He received a Doctor of Divinity from Warner Pacific. He was a member 
of the Lodi Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Kernutt, of Lodi; sons, Michael 
Kernutt, of St. Helens, Ore., Douglas Kernutt, of Centralia, Wash., and Robin 
Kernutt, of Brentwood; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lodi Community Church, 444 W. 
Turner Road, Lodi. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Warner Pacific College, 2219 S.E. 
68th Ave., Portland, Ore. 97215.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
