Known affectionately as Sister Dina, she was born in Sacramento, CA. She studied communication for the deaf in college, and was an ardent student of the Bible. Sister Dina grew up in the church and began ministering as a teenager serving as a musician, choir member, and Youth Department teacher. At 17, Sister Dina also started evangelism work. Sister Dina was a humble, virtuous, and faithful saint of God who was loved and respected by everyone she befriended. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She lived for the Lord, her beloved family, home, and her church, Resurrection Power Evangelistic Center. Sister Dina manifested the grace of hospitality, and was always giving in time of need. Many will remember Sister Dina for her beautiful way with people and how she loved leading people to Christ, as well as her gift of songwriting. Sister Dina is survived by her husband, Pastor Alfred Smith, Sr.; son, Alfred Smith, Jr.; daughter, Alysa Smith; sisters, Debran Saffold Jones of Sacramento; Andrea Jones and Jeanell Wilson, both of Vallejo; brothers, Marvin Rudulph of Manteca; John Saffold, Jr. of Sacramento; Clifton Lyons of North Carolina; and Pierre Lawton of Stockton; her stepmom, Helen Saffold of Sacramento; mother-in- law, Martha Smith of Stockton; and a whole host of beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and many cherished friends. Viewing will be Wednesday, December 22, 2004 from 2 p.m.- 6 p.m. at resurrection Power Evangelistic Center and a Celebration of Life worship service at 7:00 p.m. following the viewing. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 23, 11 a.m., 1610 N. Sierra Nevada Street, (209) 464-9842. Memorials may be made to the Missions Ministry Project of RPEC.
