He was born January 17, 1918, in Boston, Mass. Mr. Orlandella earned a degree in engineering from MIT University in Boston, Mass. During the war, he was employed by General Electric as an engineer, where he helped in the war effort. In the late 1940's he relocated to Lodi to run the family business, Vito Fruit Company. For most of his life, he was employed by M&R Company Packing and Shipping Co. in Lodi, and never officially retired. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Boston, Mass. In the late 1960's, he was an instructor and director of three local drum and bugle corps, which included the Stockton Police Drum Corps, the Stockton Joaquin Caballeros and the Lodi Sentinels. He was also a sponsor of Ralph's Mob, a woman's softball team in Lodi. He enjoyed coin collecting, and was a member of the local coin club. He also enjoyed collecting baseball cards. His wife Wanda, the Patriarch of a enormous family, survives him, he lives on through his 3 sons, Phillip, Ralph, and Vito; his 4 surviving daughters, Maria, Teresa, Linda, and Angela; his 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial open house will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Gold Room, located inside the Hotel Lodi, 5 South School Street, Lodi, CA. Visitation will be held January 4 at the Langone Funeral Parlor in Boston, Mass. A funeral and burial will be held on January 5 at Holy Cross Cemetery in the "Orlandella Family Plot The Madonna of Stars," in Malden, Mass. Lagone Funeral Parlor is in charge of arrangements.
