Elma Vargas
Elma Vargas, 84, of Lodi and formerly of Galt, died Dec. 27 in a local 
hospital. She was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Oakland.

Mrs. Vargas lived in Galt for 60 years before moving to Lodi two years ago. She 
was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.

She is survived by her nephews, Jim Crummett, of Brown Valley, and Fred 
Crummett, of Lancaster; and niece, Sharon Hiles, of Sea Ranch.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 15 at the family residence in 
Lodi. For more information, call (707) 888-0782. Inurnment will be private at 
Cherokee Memorial Park.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
