Whitmer Feb. 19, 1933 - Dec. 25, 2004 Nelden J. Whitmer, 71, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2004 at his family residence. He was born February 19, 1933 in Alpine, AZ to Angus and Conda Whitmer. He worked as a Postal Carrier in Stockton, CA for many years before retiring in 1976. He later owned and operated J's Motors and also raided and sold cattle. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints Third Ward, the United States Marine Corps and was a Korean War Veteran. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed ranching, storytelling, new business endeavors and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Whitmer is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Whitmer of Acampo; five sons, Forrest Whitmer of Elkins, AR, Rocky Whitmer of Stockton, Brent Whitmer of Lodi, Brandon Whitmer of Carson City, NV, Nolan Meyers of Lodi; two daughters, Tammie Lethco of Elk Grove, Lyn Williams of Stockton; one brother, David Whitmer of Sacramento; one sister, Geraldine Evans of Moses Lake, WA; 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife Madge Joan Whitmer in 1995. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 29, 2:00 p.m. at the Lodi Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lodi Funeral Home.
