Rev. Juan L. Escalante, 69, pastor of Temple Bethesda for 12 years, died at 
home on Sunday, January 2, 2005. Born in Matamoros, Mexico on June 15, 1935. 
Survived by two brothers, Maurillio Escalante, Seferino Escalante; 4 children, 
Marcelina Campuzano, Elizabeth Cadrette, Esther Figueroa, John L. Escalante and 
13 grandchildren and 1 great-grand child. 
Services: Thursday, January 6, 2005, 6:00 p.m. at Temple Bethesda, 908 S. 
Searchlight Ave., Stockton and Friday, January 7, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Temple 
Bethesda, 908 S. Searchlight Ave., Stockton. Visitation: Thursday, January 6, 
2005, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Temple Bethesda, 908 S. Searchlight Ave., 
Stockton. Committal: Stockton Rural Cemetery, 2350 Cemetery Lane, Stockton.
