Gonzalez January 7, 1939 - January 3, 2005 David L. Gonzalez, 65, born on January 7, 1939, entered into rest on January 3, 2005. He was the loving husband of Vicki Gonzalez for 25 years. Father to Terri Castro-Chavez (Carlos) of Stockton and step-father to Vanessa Castro-Drivon (David) of Stockton and Toni Castro (Reba Gonzales) of Renton, Washington; loving grandfather to Zach Drivon, Scott Drivon and Corey Drivon; Victoria "Gunda" Chavez, Sierra "Chapas" and Nicholas David "Cabezone" Chavez, all of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his father, Ysidro Gonzalez, mother Rosa Gonzalez and sister, Virginia Belmontez and nieces and nephews. A native of Stockton, David and Vicki relocated to Kauai, Hawaii in 1984 where they resided for 17 years. While in Kauai, David was an Associate for the Black Pearl and retired after 12 years of dedicated service as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Serenity House, Poli-Lani and Hina-Mauka Treatment Center. David received an honorable discharge from the National Guard and was an active member and sponsor for Narcotics Anonymous (recently celebrated his 20th Birthday) and was honored by the invitation to speak at the 2005 International Narcotics Anonymous Conference in Honolulu. He loved spending time with his wife, grandchildren, watching sports and old movies, eating great foods, his loving pets "Damon" and "Sabie", and his favorite past time Boogie Boarding. David's remains (transported by his adopted son, Damon) will return to Kauai where he found healing, serenity, life-long friendships and his "Aloha Spirit" that will be with us always. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary First Assembly of God, 8407 Kelley Drive in Stockton, CA.
