Primitivo "Joe" Somera 
June 25, 1912 - January 4, 2005



Primitivo "Joe" Somera, 92, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2005. Born June 25, 
1912 in the Philippines. He was a resident of Manteca for 20 years, previously 
of Tracy. He was a farm laborer. He loved his family gatherings and sharing his 
knowledge and wisdom with his grandchildren. He served as an excellent example 
and elder to his children. He was a man of few but precious words. 
He is survived by his children, Julian Somera of Manteca, Gordon Somera of 
Manteca, Gilbert Somera of Stockton, Dolores Romero of Manteca, Virginia Somera-
Eggink of Manteca, Edward Somera of Stockton, Diane Garcia-Ahrens of Ahwanee, 
CA, Robert Somera of Seattle, WA, Veronica Corning Souza of Manteca, and 
Richard Somera of Manteca. 
Visitation: Monday, January 10, 2005, 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Fry Memorial 
Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 11, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. 
at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Rosary: Monday, January 10, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. 
at Fry Memorial Chapel. Interment: Tracy Public Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to the Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., 
Stockton, CA 95204.
