A native of Copperopolis, Mr. Walker lived in Tracy the last two months, and previously lived in town 10 years. He had also lived in Biggs 15 years and Texas 10 years. He was a truck driver. Mr. Walker served in the U.S. Navy four years during the Korean War and was the first of three generations to serve in the military. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed mechanics and was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. Mr. Walker is survived by 10 children, Nova “Tinker” Cooper, Joe Prescott and Tim Hunter, all of Tracy, Robert Walker of Copperopolis, Kathy Walker and Terry Shirley, both of Biggs, Roberta Walker of Lufkin, Texas, Bill Walker of Livingston, Texas, Dan Walker of Kyle, Texas, and Christina King of Temple, Texas; a sister, Viola North of Carson City, Nev.; an aunt, Marie Elliot of Stockton; an uncle, Milton Bishop of Stockton; 28 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, Francis Elmer and Lela Walker, and a brother, Jack Walker, all preceded him in death. Saturday’s graveside services will be at noon at Altaville Protestant Cemetery on Old Highway 4 near Demarest Street in Altaville. At the services, his granddaughters will sing “Amazing Grace.” Military services will immediately follow graveside services at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 156 W. Saint Charles St., in San Andreas. Angels Memorial Chapel, 1071 S. Main St., is handling services.
