She was born Yoshiko Muranaka on April 29, 1924, in Montebello, where she was raised and educated. Mrs. Kosaka graduated from high school in 1942. At the beginning of World War II, she and her family were evacuated to Santa Anita Assembly Center for six months, and then moved to the relocation center in Rohwer, Ark. After their release, she attended Earlham College in Richmond, Ind. In 1950, she married Sanaye "Poncho" Kosaka in Chicago, Ill., where they made their home. She was employed by C.N.A. Insurance Company in Chicago for nine years. She and her husband later moved to Gardena and resided there for 23 years. While living in Gardena, she was employed by C.N.A. Insurance Company in the Los Angeles office for 18 years until her retirement in 1986. Following her retirement, the couple moved to Lodi. She was an active volunteer for the LOEL Center, where she was an exercising instructor for 16 years and an in-line dancing instructor for 15 years. She enjoyed bowling and sewing. She is survived by her husband, Sanaye "Poncho" Kosaka, of Lodi; step-son, Gerald Kosaka, of Lodi; brother, Tomio Muranaka, of San Pedro; sister, Teri Uyehara, of Grand Junction, Colo.; two step-grandchildren and four step-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Shigemi Muranaka, in 1999. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi. Inurnment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park. There will be no visitation. A family remembrance Memorial Registry may be signed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Road, Lodi.
